A Cattaraugus County man is suing the Salamanca City Central School District and a former teacher who did time in prison for sexual abuse.
Douglas Woodin claims he was abused repeatedly by teached Michael J. DuPont while he was in seventh grade during the 2002-2003 school year at Salamanca. Woodin’s suit says that DuPont singled him out because he was an outcast, shunned by other students because of his Tourette’s Syndrome.
DuPont was convicted of sex crimes in October 2008 based on accusations of another 14-year-old boy. The Salamanca School District said at the time they were unaware of DuPont’s actions.
