General Electric announced yesterday that it was closing a plant in Georgia and moving its jobs to Western Pennsylvania.
The company expects to close its industrial plant in Waynesboro, Georgia, by the end of next year, and will consolidate its work and up to 200 jobs with a similar plant in Charleroi south of Pittsburgh.
The company said that the decision to move the operation to Pennsylvania was made based on “current competitive market conditions.”
