A Bellefonte man is in custody after allegedly downloading child pornography because he wanted to go to jail.
25 year old David Young has been charged with 228 counts of child pornography. The charges stem from a nine-month investigation after officers were tipped off about an image of a baby being sexually abused.
State Police obtained a warrant for Young’s arrest, and when they arrived at his house, Troopers say Young told them “the porn you are looking for is upstairs and I just downloaded more for you.”
Young reportedly told troopers he had been downloading the porn since February and was waiting for authorities because he was tired of living his life and it was the easiest way to go to jail.
He is being held in Centre County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail.
