Eade’s Fitness 24/7 of Olean has taken a unique approach to the shutdown of gyms. Owner Paul Eade has “decided to move things outdoors and abide by the outdoor protocol that is allowed by New York State”. Eade put up a 40 x 60 foot tent in the parking lot outside of his gym and filled it with cardio and strength equipment. The tent opened on August 4th.
There are some new protocols in place such as temperature checks, sanitizing themselves and of course wearing a face covering. Employees are cleaning equipment at touch points and encouraging members to do so as well. Eade decided to go in this direction after members were going into Pennsylvania to work out.
Eade is involved in a lawsuit to re-open his gym along with 700 other gyms in New York State. A hearing is scheduled for August 20th.
