UPDATE:
Court papers say police got called to the Thivener’s home on July 26 for a double suicide. When they got there, Jessica was dead. Richard was taken to a hospital.
The coroner’s report says Jessica died of heart failure because of the Ativan in her system. On Wednesday, Thivener reportedly told police he put 17 capsules of the sedative into her soup with the intention of killing her.

A St. Marys man has been charged with criminal homicide for his wife’s drug-related death in July.
Police also charged 37-year-old Richard Thivener with drug delivery resulting in death and recklessly endangering another person.
Police didn’t release the victim’s name but online records show 32-year-old Jessica Thivener died in the couple’s home on July 26, the day police say the death investigation started.
Thivener is in Elk County Jail without bail.
