Charges Bound in Child Abuse Case

Charges against a Bradford man accused of nearly beating an 18 month old baby to death have been bound to McKean County Court.

28 year old Tyler L. Prescott is alleged to have caused nearly fatal injuries to an 18 month old child on March 3^rd. According to the reports, Prescott was watching the child while the mother was at work, when she came home he told her the baby was napping. When she checked in on the child later that evening she found that the head was swollen, both eyes were swollen shut and several bruises around the head and neck. When the mother was trying to figure out how to get to the hospital, Prescott allegedly took all the phones and would not allow anyone to call for help. When the child was finally taken to the hospital, doctors found that the child had suffered severe injuries including a basal skull fracture, fractured right ulna and bruising around the head and neck. Oishei Children’s Hospital staff deemed the child’s injuries to be near fatal.

Prescott is in McKean County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
