The Allegheny Bradford Family of Companies in Lewis Run was named the Bradford Area Chamber of Commerce Exemplary Business of the Year.
In accepting the award last night, president and CEO Dan McCune said he could be brief, or he could talk about his company. He said he decided to be brief, but did talk about all the contributions ABC employees and its board of directors makes to the community.
Also honored Thursday were The Bradford Ecumenical Home Inc. with the Community & Spirit Award; Craig Hartburg with the Directors Award; and Father Leo Gallina with the Legacy Award.
Chamber executive director Kara Kennedy said the theme of the night was enthusiasm, and quoted Ralph Waldo Emerson: Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.
She mentioned businesses who make a commitment to the local area; non-profit organizations who work enthusiastically to accomplish their mission and vision; and the individuals who generously contribute their time and talent to get things done all year, in so many different ways.
The chamber also inducted several members into its Century Club: the Church of the Ascension, the First Presbyterian Church, Hill Memorial Methodist Church, McQuilkin Plumbing Co. and the McKean County Cooperative Extension.
