Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania presented a $2,000 donation to the Bradford YWCA in support of its recent expansion efforts and continued growth within the community. The contribution will support the organization’s move to the Second Ward District, helping to fund the organization’s continued development that will ensure the safety and well-being of its growing client base.
The YWCA has been an invaluable resource to Bradford residents for over 100 years, offering mental health and disability programs; shelter for domestic violence victims and the homeless; life skills and vocational training; a food pantry program; and many other services. In order to continue serving the community, representatives of the Bradford YWCA want to ensure that the environment they create for their clients is not only welcoming and comfortable, but also clean, modern, and safe.
“I see the impact our staff makes every day in the lives of our most vulnerable community members,” said YWCA Executive Director Vanessa Castano, J.D. “That is why we strive to be flexible to the changing needs of our community and innovative in our problem solving – so that we can do this work to the best of our ability.”
“We are so thankful to Columbia Gas for being a part of our successes,” continued Vanessa. “We’re excited about our campaign and hope that others in the community will be motivated to give, as well.”
Columbia Gas encourages other community members and businesses to support the YWCA throughout their capital campaign as they work to obtain funding for these much needed upgrades. To learn more about the important work completed by the Bradford YWCA visit, www.ywcabradford.org.
