About 50 women, men, and children, gathered in Veterans’ Square Saturday for the inaugural Bradford Women’s March.
The crowd braved the cold as speakers discussed pioneers of the women’s movement and current issues, and guitarist Brianna Blankenship provided musical entertainment with songs about women’s strength.
Organizers were pleased with the size of the crowd after fears that attendance would be low after the event was rescheduled due to weather.
Dr. Tracee Howell of Pitt-Bradford called the march “the start of a tradition,” and proudly stated that “we can say that we were here the very first year.”
