Today is the day to show a little extra kindness in honor of beloved PBS children’s show host, Fred Rogers.
Pennsylvania’s state website will share stories today about good deeds and kind gestures. It’s part of “1-4-3 Day,” named for Mister Rogers’ favorite number.
Rogers used the number 143 to say “I love you,” as each digit reflects the number of letters in each word in the phrase. May 23 is the 143rd day of the year.
To recognize the day, Governor Tom Wolf bought a copy of the book “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood … The Poetry of Mister Rogers” and gave it to Lt. Governor John Fetterman.
Today only at On the Side Books on Kennedy Street, you can get $4 off when you buy a copy of “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.
