A Bear Lake man is behind bars after allegedly pointing a loaded shotgun at two people while under the influence of methamphetamines.
According to the State Police, 45 year old Shawn Handley started a physical altercation with a woman in the kitchen of her home. After being chased outside, Handley allegedly retrieved a loaded 12 gauge shotgun and pointed it at two people.
Witnesses say they were able to get the gun away from Handley after he allegedly fired it into some weeds behind the house.
Handley fled the scene on a motorcycle after being told that the police had been called, but returned after the police left. The police returned and Handley was taken into custody without incident.
Handley has been charged with reckless endangerment, simple assault, and terroristic threats. He is in Warren County jail after failing to post $60,000 bail.
