A Chautauqua County man who threatened “terrible violence” on social media was jailed after a cache of weapons were seized in a storage locker.
Ellicott police arrested 36-year-old James B. Caloren of Falconer after a search of a storage unit rented by him revealed an AK-47, a6 and 12 gauge shotguns, a rifle, other weapons, and a large amount of ammunition. Police obtained the search warrant after Carolan allegedly posted a message on Facebook threatening violence.
Police said that Caloren has multiple felony convictions and is not permitted to own firearms.
He was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail and faces five felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon. The FBI and ATF are also investigating, and federal charges are pending.
