Several Hinsdale residents were treated for carbon monoxide poisoning Tuesday morning at Olean General Hospital. Hinsdale Fire Chief Kelly Karst says they were alerted by hospital staff after two people drove themselves to the hospital and had high levels of carbon monoxide in their blood. An ambulance later transported to two students from Hinsdale Central School, who lived in the home, to the hospital too for treatment of carbon monoxide poisoning. Karst says they ventilated their home on Route 16 after discovering a damaged chimney that was connected to a coal stove.
