Pirates Call Tucker Up From Indy, Select Reynolds

The Pittsburgh Pirates today intend to recall infielder Cole Tucker from Triple-A Indianapolis and select the contract of outfielder Bryan Reynolds from Triple-A.

The club will announce corresponding roster moves later today.

The 22-year-old Tucker hit .333 (19-for-57) with three homers, seven RBI and five stolen bases in 13 games with Indianapolis this season.  He enters today tied for second among International League leaders in hits and stolen bases while also hitting safely in each of his last five games (9-for-22, .409).  Tucker was Pittsburgh’s first-round selection (24th pick overall) in the 2014 First-Year Player Draft. Tucker, who has no previous big league experience, will wear uniform #3.

The 24-year-old Reynolds hit .367 (18-for-49) with five homers and 11 RBI in 13 games with Indianapolis this season.  He enters today tied for second among International League leaders in home runs, fifth in batting and third in total bases (36). Reynolds was originally selected by San Francisco in the second round of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft (59th pick overall).  He was acquired by the Pirates, along with pitcher Kyle Crick, in exchange for Andrew McCutchen on 1/15/18.

Reynolds, who has no previous big league experience, will wear uniform #10.
