UPDATE: Crissman was captured at about 8:30 a.m. State police haven’t released details about the capture yet.
A search is underway this morning for a man who escaped from the Armstrong County Jail on Thursday and is a suspect in the murder of a woman in her home later that day.
Police say 38-year-old Robert Crissman is considered extremely dangerous.
They say Crissman was on a work-release program and walked outside the jail to get meals for other inmates from a truck, but ran away. They believe he then went to a nearby home, where a 55-year-old woman was later found dead in her bathroom.
Police believe Crissman is driving the woman’s pickup truck – a maroon 1999 Chevy Silverado.
He was in jail for violating probation on a drug charge. There were no violent crimes on his record.
