A small group of veterans knew they were going on an Honor Flight to Washington DC tomorrow to see the World War II and other memorials.
What they didn’t know is that after a luncheon in their honor at Bradford Area High School today a small parade around Bradford would allow school students, senior citizens, Futures workers, and others to thank them for their service and wish them bon voyage.
One of the men, World War II veteran Tony Falconi told WESB what this Honor Flight means to him.
The other veterans are Frank Jackson, Fred Lunden, Larry Smith, Herman White, who also served in World War II, and Tom Neelly, a veteran of the Korean War.
They will leave from Buffalo-Niagara International Airport tomorrow.
Bradford resident Nancy Fire, and Bradford Area School District Superintendent Katy Pude were instrumental in making the Honor Flight happen for these veterans.
