Olean Police might soon be wearing body cameras.
Police Chief Jeff Rowley is asking Olean Common Council to fund the cameras, which would cost a little over $100,000 over a five year period, saying the move would “demonstrate that we are concerned about everybody’s behavior — ours and the public.”
If the expenditure is approved, officers could be wearing the cameras by the beginning of August.
