A fire early Monday morning damaged a house and garage in Johnsonburg. Fire Chief Bob Dickey says the blaze started in the garage and spread to the house on First Avenue in the borough. Neighbors were able to get the occupants safely out of the home which was ruled still live-able by the state police fire marshal. The garage was a total loss and the cause of the fire remains unknown, although it was deemed suspicious. The home is owned by Louann Goodrow.
