Six people have been indicted by a federal grand jury in New York for having distributing cocaine.
The US Attorney’s office say the six Dunkirk residents had nearly eight kilograms of cocaine, $175,000 in cash, an AR-15 assault rifle with a 30-round magazine, three luxury vehicles and other proceeds from the cocaine sales.
The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force, in a news release sent to WESB, says seven kilograms of cocaine is about 70,000 doses when sold in street level quantities.
The six are 39-year-old David Jesus Pagan, 40-year-old Rafael Burgos, 34-year-old Samuel Hernandez III, 31-year-old Javier Pagan Jr., 30-year-old Alvin Torres Jr., and 28-year-old Angel Pierluissi. The maximum penalty if they are convicted is life in prison and a $10 million fine.
The task force says Burgos and David Pagan headed the organization.
