The oil and gas company that would have been the primary customer for a controversial fracking wastewater plant near Coudersport has withdrawn from the project.
JKLM Energy announced yesterday that it was withdrawing from Epiphany Water Solutions’ proposed plant, which would have treated fracking waste before releasing it into the headwaters of the Alleghany river.
In a press release sent to WESB, a spokesman cited “a number of factors” in their decision.
(April 6, 2018) Throughout the consideration of the proposed Epiphany Water Solutions facility in Coudersport, PA, JKLM Energy, LLC (JKLM) was identified as a potential customer of the water treatment facility. JKLM will no longer pursue water treatment at the proposed facility. A number of factors impacted this decision.

JKLM has permits for 60 wells, and currently operates fewer than 20 well pads in Potter County. The company has amassed 62 violations from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection since it began drilling in Potter County in 2015, including a $472,000 penalty in 2016 for groundwater contamination.
