Without mail-in ballots counted yet, Chris Dush is leading his two opponents in the Republican primary for state senator in the 25th District.
Cameron is the only one of 8 counties in the district that has not reported its votes yet. John “Herm” Suplizio won his home county of Clearfield, but Dush took the rest.
Without the mail-in ballots or Cameron County counted Democrat Margie Brown, who ran unopposed received 8,538 votes, according to WESB News unofficial tabulations.
The mail-in votes should be counted later this week.
Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar says not every county will have its results on the same day.
She did say mail-in voting was a huge success, noting that in the last uncontested presidential primary only about 70 percent of absentee ballots were returned. For this election about 90 percent were returned with Forest and Sullivan counties leading the way.
