Republican leaders in Harrisburg are promising to override Governor Tom Wolf’s expected veto of a school sports bill “as soon as possible.”
Wolf said Wednesday that he would veto the bill, saying that by giving sole responsibility on deciding when and how to handle sports to the schools, it would allow for “a widely-reported, well-known health risk.”
House Majority Leader Kerry Benninghoff criticized the Governor for vetoing a bill with broad popular support, and promised an override veto at the first opportunity.
The bill passed both houses of the Assembly with veto-proof margins.
Governor Wolf is a great leader and is doing what’s best for the people of Pennsylvania. I don’t understand why you are caving in to a logical order to prevent the coronavirus from spreading when you know that people will not comply. Your strategy will further spread the pandemic and the spread of the COVID-19 will be on your hands.
