Sunday’s report from the Pa. Dept. of Health showed another 4,111 cases across the region over the past week.
There were 107 cases confirmed in Potter County, where more than one in six residents has been infected since the pandemic was declared. There have been two more fatalities since the beginning of the year and a total of 80 county residents reported as COVID-19 fatalities.
Many area counties were harder-hit over the past week: McKean, 336 cases, 3 deaths; Cattaraugus (N.Y.), 636 cases, 3 deaths; Allegany (N.Y.), 325 cases, 1 death; Cameron, 22 cases; and Elk, 414 cases, 3 deaths.
Health care officials caution that relatively few people have been tested since late December, so the true case counts are impossible to estimate.
