The Pennsylvania State Police will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint in McKean County next week.
The checkpoint will operate some time between Thursday August 10th and Saturday August 12th and an unannounced location in the County.
A spokesperson for the State Police said that the purpose of the checkpoint is to discourage driving under the influence.

Generally true (PA is not a stop-and-ID state) but the traffic laws say if you are pulled over while driving a car you (the driver, not passengers) need to provide your drivers’ license and proof of registration and insurance.
You are correct that you do not otherwise have to show your ID without reasonable articulable suspicion which can lead to you being detained. More people should look into the protections of the Fourth Amendment.
