Jamestown police say that a report of an alligator in the city was just a ruse to distract police.
Around 3 AM this morning officers patrolling the riverwalk say that a woman “who pointed and alerted to an alleged alligator in the river.” Officers continued on their patrol and encountered 44-year-old Jason Goodwin who they say was in the middle of violating a Protection from Abuse order.
An investigation determined that the report of the alligator was an attempt to keep the Police from continuing on and finding Goodwin.
