The Pittsburgh Penguins topped the L.A. Kings 4-3 in overtime last night in Los Angeles.
After already having a goal waved off in OT, Bryan Rust scored with 1:15 remaining in the extra period to give the Penguins a sweep of their California road trip – San Jose, Anaheim and L.A. – for the first time since 1996-97.
Rust appeared to put in his own rebound 19 seconds earlier, but the goal was waved off when he was ruled offside.
Sidney Crosby had a goal and an assist as he became the 11th player in NHL history with 450 career multi-point games. He also extended his point streak to seven games. Lars Eller and Jake Guentzel also had goals for Pittsburgh. Magnus Hellberg stopped 34 shots.
The Penguins are now 6-6-0 on the season and will next host the Buffalo Sabres tomorrow.
