The embattled DuBois City Manager has been officially fired from his job.
Shortly after newly elected Mayor Pat Reasinger and council members Jennifer Jackson and Elliot Gelfand were sworn into office, a motion was made and passed to fire City Manager Herm Suplizio.
Suplizio and former administrative secretary Roberta Shaffer are facing Federal charges for allegedly conspiring to embezzle over $600,000 from the City over a 15 year period.
The former City Council had voted in August to buy out the remainder of Suplizio’s contract instead of firing him for cause, a move blocked by a Clearfield County judge. Reasinger was the only Council member to vote against the buyout.
The way they handled this whole situation makes you wonder what else is going on in their council. Something just isn’t sitting right that it had to take a new mayor and a couple new council members to terminate him.
