Governor Josh Shapiro is facing criticism after accepting nearly $2,000 in donations from a Harrisburg lobbyist last year.
PA Spotlight is reporting that Michael Brunelle, a top staffer to former Gov. Tom Wolf who is now a lobbyist gave the Shapiro campaign $1,650 in “Event Tickets and Catering” on October 22 of last year. Campaign finance filings list the tickets as an in-kind donation and not a gift.
Brunelle’s firm represents health care and energy companies, as well as a manufacturer of “skill games,” which Shapiro called for legalizing and taxing during his budget address earlier this month.
