The Pittsburgh Pirates today recalled right-handed pitcher Dauri Moreta (pronounced DOW-ree mo-RETTA) from Triple-A Indianapolis.
Right-handed pitcher Thomas Harrington was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis following last night’s game to make room for Moreta on the 26-man active roster.
The 29-year-old Moreta went 3-0 with a 2.56 ERA (31.2ip/9er), 48 strikeouts and a .191 batting average against in 31 appearances this season with Indianapolis.
Moreta began the 2025 season on the 60-day injured list recovering from right elbow surgery performed in 2024. He was reinstated from the 60-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A on June 15.
Moreta’s next game will be his first with the Pirates since October 1, 2023, in Pittsburgh’s season finale against Miami.
He will wear uniform No. 36.
