The PA State Police are asking for the public’s help, offering a $5,000 reward for information regarding the 1987 disappearance of a night watchman and a high-value theft from the old Corning Plant.
The incident occurred late on the night of September 12, where troopers say an unknown masked suspect entered the plant and confronted Dale Kerstetter, the night watchman.
The suspect forced entry into the furnace and cut out the platinum pipe, which was valued at over $500,000.
Kerstetter was discovered to be missing and has not been seen since. It’s unknown if he was a victim or had any involvement.
Kerstetter was 52-years-old at the time of his disappearance and is described as a white male, 5 feet 4 inches tall, and weighing 130 pounds who had red, shoulder-length curly hair, and blue eyes.
