Olean General Hospital will receive a grant of more than $200,824 from the Appalachian Regional Commission for the Olean and Bradford Hospital School of Radiology Training Enhancement project.
The hospital will use the grant to acquire a new X-ray machine to improve clinical training for students, strengthening the radiological team at the facility and ensuring better patient care.
Representative Nick Langworthy, whose district includes the Greater Olean area, announced the funding Saturday, saying, “This critical investment in a new X-ray machine will ensure that Olean General Hospital’s technicians, students, and clinical instructors have access to cutting-edge, hands-on training while enhancing diagnostic capabilities and expanding access to quality care in the Southern Tier.”
The project is part of a larger investment by the Appalachian Regional Commission to improve access to health care in rural and underserved communities.
