New York Yankees baseball — and the Bronx Bombers grind out another one in Arlington — three-to-two over the Texas Rangers Tuesday night.
The story was pitching — and Cam Schlittler was electric. The rookie right-hander worked six shutout innings — scattering just three hits while striking out eight Rangers on 92 pitches. Brent Headrick and Fernando Cruz each worked a scoreless frame to bridge the gap, before David Bednar closed it out for the save — though he did make things interesting, allowing two runs in the ninth before slamming the door.
On offense — Aaron Judge did what Aaron Judge does —Judge finished two-for-four with the home run and two runs scored. Austin Wells also went deep — going two-for-three with a solo blast. Cody Bellinger chipped in a double and an RBI.
The Yankees move to twenty and ten — continuing their grip atop the AL East.
Today is Game Three in Arlington — first pitch at two-thirty-five Eastern at Globe Life Field. Then New York heads home — the Baltimore Orioles come to Yankee Stadium Friday night.
