Elk County attorney Christopher Martini, who acted as a defense attorney in McKean County Court, was disbarred by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court after he submitted a resignation admitting that he couldn’t defend himself against multiple misconduct allegations.
The ruling marks the end of a disciplinary process that started when he was temporarily suspended in October 2023 and eventually became 13 open investigations.
Martini is accused of abandoning clients, ignoring court orders and soliciting sexually explicit images from women he represented.
The Supreme Court requires Martini to comply with Rule 217, which includes notifying clients, closing trust accounts and ceasing all legal practice.
Martini will be able to seek reinstatement after a multi-year waiting period under Rule 218.
