The Buffalo Sabres are rolling in Round Two.
Wednesday night at KeyBank Center, the Sabres defeated the Montreal Canadiens four to two in Game One of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The building was electric — and Buffalo didn’t waste any time.
Josh Doan and Ryan McLeod each scored a goal and added an assist to lead the way. Zach Benson was outstanding with two assists, and goaltender Alex Lyon made twenty-six saves to get the win.
For Montreal, Nick Suzuki and Kirby Dach scored, and rookie netminder Jakub Dobes made just twelve saves — a tough night for the young goalie.
The Sabres are now one win away from going up two-nothing in the series — and they stay home to do it. Game Two is tomorrow night — Friday, May eighth — right back at KeyBank Center in Buffalo. Puck drop at seven o’clock Eastern on T-N-T, true-T-V, and H-B-O Max.
Buffalo hasn’t been to the Eastern Conference Finals since two-thousand-seven. Western New York is believing — and right now? The Sabres are giving them every reason to.
Game Two. Tomorrow night. Seven o’clock. KeyBank Center
