The Pittsburgh Pirates wrap up their west coast road trip to San Francisco with a split-series feeling — one big win sandwiched between two tough losses against the Giants.
Friday night, the Bucs dropped the opener, five to two. But Saturday? Pittsburgh came out swinging — and didn’t stop. Twenty hits, thirteen runs, a dominant performance from starter Braxton Ashcraft going seven innings, and Brandon Lowe driving in four. A blowout in every sense of the word.
Then today, Sunday — a tough one. The Giants walked it off, seven to six, taking the series two games to one.
So the Pirates pack their bags and head back to PNC Park, where they’ll open a home stand Tuesday evening against the Colorado Rockies. First pitch set for 6:40pm EDT with the radio pregame getting started at 6:15pm on WESB Sports, B107.5FM.
