The Town of Allegany Facebook page made a post were officials remind residents that the discharge of cannons and similar explosive devices are not permitted within the Town.
The use of cannons presents serious public safety concerns, including risks related to noise, fire, explosives, and potential injury or property damage.
Violations may result in enforcement action under local and state law.
The town officials did not explain why this post was made.
