Not exactly the getaway day the Yankees were hoping for.
New York dropped the finale of their series in Baltimore this afternoon (May 13), falling to the Orioles 7-0 — and it could not have been much worse. The Yankees managed just one hit all afternoon, committed two errors, and were completely shut down by Kyle Bradish, who went six innings without allowing a run.
But the bigger story out of Camden Yards today is Max Fried. The Yankees’ lefty was pulled after just three innings — giving up five hits and three earned runs on 61 pitches — and he did not return.
The loss goes on the board for Fried, now tagged with a 9-point-0-0 ERA on the afternoon. Baltimore’s Adley Rutschman did the most damage, going deep for a three-run homer. The Yankees’ offense, meanwhile, had no answer — Aaron Judge went hitless, and the club went zero-for-four with runners in scoring position.
New York now looks ahead to a weekend set against the cross-town Mets beginning Friday.
