The Bucs bounced back in a big way Thursday morning, taking the series rubber match from Colorado.
Pittsburgh rolled past the Rockies 7-2 at PNC Park — and it wasn’t even that close. The Pirates put up three runs in the first, three more in the third, and never looked back. Carmen Mlodzinski picked up the win, going five innings and allowing just two earned runs on four hits.
Offensively, Ryan O’Hearn continued to swing a hot bat — going three-for-four with a home run and two RBIs. But the story of the afternoon was catcher Endy Rodríguez — two hits, a double, two RBIs, and a walk.
Pittsburgh finished with twelve hits on the day and committed zero errors — a clean, complete ballgame all the way around.
The Pirates stay home — the Philadelphia Phillies come to PNC Park tonight for a three-game set. First pitch is at 6:40pm EDT withthe radio pregame beginning at 6:15pm on WESB Sports, B107.5 FM.
