The Mets won the Subway Series, and the Yankees are in a funk.
New York split the first two games at Citi Field — the Yankees taking Friday 5-2, then the Mets answering Saturday 6-3. Sunday’s rubber match went to extra innings, with the Mets walking off in ten innings 7-6 on a Tyrone Taylor three-run homer in the ninth that forced extras, then a walk-off in the tenth to seal it. Aaron Judge went oh-for-five in the finale and is mired in a stretch the Yankees desperately need to end.
New York heads home to face the Toronto Blue Jays tonight at Yankee Stadium. First pitch at 7:05pm EDT.
