The New York Yankees took Game Two of their four-game set against Toronto Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium, edging the Blue Jays 5-4 to improve to twenty-nine and nineteen on the season.
It was a tale of two swings — and Will Warren doing just enough. The right-hander went five innings, allowing three earned runs on six hits while striking out three, picking up the win to move to 6-1 on the year. Camilo Doval earned the save.
At the plate, Ryan McMahon was the catalyst — going two for four with a home run and three R-B-I. And first baseman Ben Rice delivered the big blow — a two-run shot in the fifth that proved to be the difference.
Dylan Cease took the loss for Toronto, surrendering five earned runs on four hits over five innings, with nine strikeouts.
Wednesday at the Stadium, it’s Trey Yesavage for Toronto against Cam Schlittler for New York. First pitch at seven-oh-five Eastern.
