The New York Yankees were shut out at home last night — and the offense has some serious questions to answer.
Toronto blanked the Bombers 2-0 at Yankee Stadium, completing a two-of-three series win for the Blue Jays. The Yankees managed just three hits on the night — a dismal performance that has the Bronx buzzing.
Carlos Rodón took the loss despite a respectable outing — five innings, seven strikeouts, three earned. Toronto got the job done with a George Springer solo shot in the seventh and a Daulton Varsho R-B-I double. Adam Macko earned the win. Jeff Hoffman closed it out for the save.
The bigger story — Aaron Judge went oh-for-four, leaving two on base. Judge, Jazz Chisholm, Paul Goldschmidt, and Anthony Volpe all went hitless.
The Yankees open a home series against Tampa Bay tonight as they try to stop the slide.
