The New York Yankees put on an offensive clinic in Kansas City Tuesday night.
The Bombers obliterated the Royals 15-1 — pounding out twenty-four hits in the process. Every single Yankee starter finished with at least two hits — a feat that has never happened in the one-hundred-and-twenty-plus year history of New York Yankees baseball.
Amed Rosario led the offensive onslaught going four-for-six with two home runs and four R-B-I’s. Ben Rice, Austin Wells, Trent Grisham, and Anthony Volpe each had three hits. Volpe and Jazz Chisholm both added home runs. Cody Bellinger went deep as well, driving in three. Even Aaron Judge — who had been struggling — chipped in two hits and an R-B-I.
On the mound, Cam Schlittler was outstanding — six innings, one earned run, six strikeouts — picking up the win and dropping his E-R-A to an eye-catching one-fifty on the season.
The Yankees and Royals wrap up the series tonight in Kansas City.
