The Bradford City Council approved nearly $280,000 for EMS expansion and equipment during Tuesday night’s meeting.
The money is set to go to Kolaja Fire Equipment for a fourth ambulance and related medical equipment, like a stretcher and heart monitor, while local responders are adapting to an increase of service demands following the closure of Bradford Regional Medical Center’s Emergency Department.
On Monday, the Bradford City Firefighters Facebook page reported that all three city ambulances were simultaneously committed during a triple-call incident before off-duty personnel were called in to assist, expressing the need for another ambulance.
