The Bryan Reynolds the Pirates have been waiting for showed up Tuesday night in Sacramento.
Pittsburgh battled back from an early four-nothing hole to beat the Athletics 6-5, and Reynolds was the engine behind it — four for five at the plate, two home runs, three RBI, and three runs scored. He single-handedly out-produced most lineups by himself.
Mitch Keller struggled early, allowing five runs in five-plus innings, but the bullpen locked it down — Mason Montgomery picked up the win, and Gregory Soto closed it out for the save. Brandon Lowe also went deep, and Ryan O’Hearn added three hits in the win.
Twelve hits for Pittsburgh on the night as the offense bailed out a shaky start.
The Bucs go for the series win tomorrow night in Oakland, first pitch 9:40pm EDT.
