The Rotary Club of Bradford is proud to announce the successful completion of Phase One of its East Bradford Park Revitalization Project, made possible through a Rotary District Grant and the efforts of dedicated volunteers and community partners.
Visitors to East Bradford Park have already noticed the dramatic transformation. What was once an overlooked part of the neighborhood is quickly becoming a welcoming and attractive gathering place for residents, businesses, and visitors alike.
“Many people have asked why Rotary chose to take on this project,” said Heidi Scrivo, Rotary Club president. “The answer is simple: Rotary’s mission is Service Above Self. We are always looking for opportunities to make a meaningful and lasting impact in our community, and we knew this project could do exactly that for East Bradford.”
Phase One improvements included the removal of two dead trees, extensive cleanup of the grounds, installation of colorful flower planters, improvements to the gazebo area, and the placement of three Rotary Peace Poles.
The Peace Poles serve as internationally recognized symbols of hope and unity. Each pole bears the message “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in multiple languages and joins tens of thousands of similar monuments located around the world. Their installation reflects Rotary’s longstanding commitment to promoting peace, understanding, and community engagement.
One of the most noticeable improvements has been the transformation of the gazebo roof. The Rotary Club extends special thanks to Rob Wilmoth for his outstanding work soft washing the cedar shake roof, dramatically improving its appearance.
The project is far from complete.
In the coming weeks, the park’s existing blue garbage receptacle will be replaced, and Rotary will begin Phase Two of the revitalization effort. Planned improvements include new signage, decorative tree carvings, installation of a new gazebo roof, additional landscaping, and other upgrades designed to beautify the park further and create a more inviting community space.
The Rotary Club of Bradford remains committed to investing in projects that strengthen neighborhoods, improve the quality of life, and foster community pride.
“We hope everyone can see the difference already,” Scrivo said. “And we’re not done yet. This is just the beginning of an exciting transformation for East Bradford Park.”
