A long-awaited milestone for the Buffalo Bills.
The team officially unveiled the new Highmark Stadium Tuesday, cutting the ribbon on a two-point-one-billion-dollar project three years and eighteen days after the first shovels hit the ground. Bills owner Terry Pegula was joined by New York Governor Kathy Hochul, Ralph C. Wilson Junior Foundation board chair Mary Wilson, and Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz for the ceremony.
Project leaders say as many as sixteen hundred workers were on site each day to keep construction on schedule. Members of the media, local dignitaries, and community leaders all got a firsthand tour of the new state-of-the-art facility.
The new Highmark Stadium will seat more than sixty thousand fans, and it’s not just built for football — the venue is expected to host concerts and other major events year-round.
A new era for Buffalo football is now underway.
