The Bradford Landmark Society is proud to announce the official launch of its new website, https://bradfordlandmark.org. Designed as a comprehensive digital hub, the site provides the community with unprecedented access to the region’s rich historical archives and simplifies how residents can engage with our local heritage.
For decades, the Bradford Landmark Society has been dedicated to acquiring, preserving, and presenting the history of the Tuna Valley. This new online presence serves as a vital bridge between our physical sites—the historic Herbig Bakery in downtown Bradford and the Crook Farm living history museum—and a global audience interested in our area’s unique past.
Key features of the new website include:
- Digital Archives & Genealogy Resources: Residents and researchers can now explore an extensive collection of historical photos, postcards, and vital genealogical tools, including the Bradford Era Obituary Index, the Cemetery Headstones Index, and the First Families of Tuna Valley Index.
- Virtual Gateway to Historic Sites: Learn more about the Herbig Bakery, our headquarters for research and archival preservation, and take a deeper look at the Crook Farm, where we showcase rural life during the region’s formative oil boom years.
- Community Events Hub: The site features a streamlined calendar of upcoming events, such as the upcoming Museum & Market Day on June 13, 2026, and the popular Crooktop Music Festival.
- Support and Participation: We have made it easier than ever for the public to get involved. Visitors can now quickly find information on how to volunteer, donate to preservation efforts, or support the Landmark Society’s mission through our shop.
“Our goal with this new website is to ensure that the stories of the Tuna Valley remain vibrant and accessible for generations to come,” said Howard Blumenthal, Board Member of the Bradford Landmark Society. “By modernizing our digital infrastructure, we are making it easier for local families to trace their roots and for history enthusiasts everywhere to connect with the incredible work happening right here in Bradford.”
The new website was developed to be a user-friendly resource for students, genealogists, and all those who take pride in our community’s history. We invite the public to explore the site today and see firsthand the wealth of information now available at their fingertips.
