The Pittsburgh Penguins are keeping their playoff surprise in the crease.
Arturs Silovs has re-signed with Pittsburgh on a one-year deal carrying a two-point-eight million dollar cap hit through the 2026-27 season. The twenty-five-year-old Latvian went nineteen and twelve last year with two shutouts in thirty-nine starts, and was outstanding in the playoffs — posting a one-point-five-two goals-against average and a nine-thirty-nine save percentage in three postseason appearances.
Silovs was Pittsburgh’s playoff X-factor after the Penguins fell behind the Flyers three games to nothing in the first round — winning two straight before the run ended in a one-nothing overtime loss in Game 6.
He’ll anchor the Pittsburgh crease again next season.
