The Yankees opened their series in Chicago with a win, but it wasn’t always pretty. New York beat the White Sox 9-to-5 Monday night at Rate Field, getting a milestone moment from catcher Ali Sánchez, whose three-run homer — the first of his career — was the difference-maker. Max Fried got the start for New York in his second outing back from the injured list, and the Yankees improved to 60 and 46, riding a stretch of seven wins in their last ten.
The series continues Tuesday night, (July 28) with the first-place White Sox looking to bounce back at home.
