The Pirates offense showed up in a big way Tuesday night, pounding out 18 hits in a 9-to-3 win over the White Sox in Chicago. Bubba Chandler was excellent on the mound, tossing six strong innings, and Rafael Flores Junior homered among his three hits. Bryan Reynolds had a monster night too — two of Pittsburgh’s five doubles, two RBIs, and two runs scored, as the Pirates jumped out to a 7-to-nothing lead after just two innings.
It’s Pittsburgh’s seventh win in their last nine games, a genuinely hot stretch as the Pirates continue their push down the stretch. The two teams continue the series Wednesday night in Chicago.
